MAINTENANCE MANAGER

McKevitt Trucking Limited has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Manager based in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The Maintenance Manager will bring a solid understanding of the transportation industry. Our ideal candidate requires excellent communication and managerial skills, strong interpersonal and problem resolution skills. You must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, and work well under pressure.

RESPONSIBILTIES

Direct and manage the day to day operations of the shop

Ensure the most effective utilization of facilities, equipment and manpower

Supervise shop personnel with an emphasis on open communication

Create and maintain positive communications with customers

Commitment to a safe work environment and safe work practices

Continue to expand existing commercial customer base focusing on quality customer who provide us with a good A/R control

Provide on going training of employees

Monitor costs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis meeting budget projections

Plan and schedule preventive maintenance and servicing of equipment

Facility management to maintain standards

REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12 education

Technical diploma a definite asset

Five years experience in a maintenance and/or management services environment

Intermediate level computer skills

Good knowledge of maintenance and safety issues unique to the industry

Business Management as well as proven record of people skills.
